Over-Analyzed, Under-Used: Objectified Venice

An investigation into the possibilities of translations of found objects with regard to their material, physics, and relationships with other objects. Explored various forms of representation through photography, digital modeling, and physical casting. Studies of physics and geometry were conducted digitally and translated to the physical.

Two sets of found objects were collected throughout Los Angeles - curves and lines. The sets were represented and translated through multiple mediums to re-identify the newly represented objects as self entities. They conglomerated in a 1:1 physical model that combined these objects to showcase the objects relationships: line supporting object and object supporting line.

The 1:1 model was then translated directly to architecture by applying a scale to a 1:1 drawing. The result was a speculative hypothesis on architecture of the future.  Taking inspiration from Metabolist architects, Archigram, and pop culture such as Blade Runner, the future was envisioned an inhabitable Earth where cultural cities such as Venice was saved, objectified, and monetized.
